On October 29, 2010 Section “Migration, Refugees and Tolerance Issues in the Modern World” was held in the framework of the IX International Scientific Conference “Belarus in the Modern World”.
19 persons participated in the work of this Section, including Head of the UNHCR Office in the Republic of Belarus Sholeh Safavi. Also representatives of the International Organisation for Migration, Ministry of Internal Affairs, scientists and professors of the Belarusian State University, Academy of Interior of the Republic of Belarus, Institute of Border Service, Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, another scientific and educational organisations, post-graduate students. Participants discussed issues concerning refugee protection, migration and formation of tolerant attitude.
