Two publications were published in the framework of EU AENEAS — UNHCR project “Strengthening the Protection Capacity in the Republic of Belarus”: teaching and methodical manual “Asylum and Migration Nexus” and a booklet “Memo for Border Troops Staff of the Republic of Belarus Dealing with Asylum Seekers at the Border”.
The manual is intended for cadets of the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs, faculties of Border Troops of the Military Academy and the Institute of National Security of the Republic of Belarus. The publication will be also interesting for students of law faculties, post-graduate students, lecturers and practical workers, dealing with refugee and asylum issues. The book includes introductions of UNHCR Representative and the Chairman of State Border Troops Committee, presentations of the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Faculty of Border Troops of the Military Academy, programs of respective training courses of the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs and the faculties of Border Troops of the Military Academy and the Institute of National Security, 8 chapters of study materials and a glossary on the issues of asylum and migration. The manual gives characteristics of migration of population, observes international standards and national legislation, competency of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Border Troops Service in the sphere of migration and asylum, mechanisms of protection of refugee rights, process of development of international refugee protection system and its significance for the Republic of Belarus as well. In the nearest future the main part of the edition will be handed over to the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs and to the faculty Border Troops of the Military Academy and the Institute of National Security. |
