The results of the contest for journalists on the best material in mass media in 2011 devoted to “Integration of Refugees in Belarus: Problems and Prospects” were summed up.

The contest was held in the framework of the EU—UNHCR joint project “Local Integration of Refugees in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine”.

The commission made a decision to announce as the winners:

In the nomination “the best newspaper/magazine, internet publication (series of publications) in the national mass media”:

  • Elena Prus for the materials placed on the informational electronic resource BelTA;
  • Veronika Filipovich for the materials in the newspaper “Na strazhe”.

The winners will be given a reward in the amount of 3 000 000 BYR each.

In the nomination “the best TV/radio material in the regional mass media”:

  • Marina Kasianova and Olga Mazepa for the material broadcasted by the Mogilev Radiostation.

The winners will be given a reward in the amount of 1 500 000 BYR each.

Besides, the stimulatory rewards in the amount of 600 000 BYR will be given to:

  • Klavdia Bosak for the material placed in the regional socio-political newspaper “Khoinizkiya naviny” (“Found my Destiny in Belarus”);
  • Anastasia But for the materials in the regional newspaper “Vitebski rabochy” (“Belarus became a new Fatherland”, “Under the Belarusian wing: just visiting or for ever?”);
  • Natalia Konoplich for the project “Under one Roof” placed in Mozyr socio-political newspaper “Gitte Palessia”;
  • Natalia Levachkova for the radio interview with the leading specialist of the Office on Citizenship and Migration of the Department on Foreign Labor Migration of Refugees and Asylum and radio interview with refugees; 
  • Kirill Mukhin for the radio material “Integration of refugees in Mozyrski District”.
