On May 22, 2009 UNHCR Office in the republic of Belarus jointly with the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University and INA “Evolutio” held the presentation of the publications, published in the framework of the project EU—UNHCR “Strengthening the Protection Capacity in the Republic of Belarus”. The publications introduce readers with migration policy, international migration tendencies, will make it possible for you to understand the refugee problem better and elaborate recommendations on this matter.

Series of five books “Actual Issues of Migration and Asylum” has been published in the beginning of 2009 in the framework of the project:
Teaching and methodical manual "Asylum and Migration Nexus" and a booklet "Memo for Border Troops Staff of the Republic of Belarus Dealing with Asylum Seekers at the Border" were published in the framework of the project in the beginning of 2008. The manual is already used in training process during the preparation of specialists in sphere of internal affairs and border services, and the booklet is used by border service officers in their practical work.
It is expected that this event will have positive effect and will improve cooperation among state services, international and public organizations and educational institutions in migration and asylum spheres, and also will give the possibility to raise the level of preparation of the specialists in this sphere.
