The results of the contest for journalists on the best material in mass media in 2008 of the topic «Problem of Refugees: Myths and Reality» were summed up.
The contest was held in the framework of the EU-UNHCR joint project "Strengthening the Protection Capacity in the Republic of Belarus”.
The commission made a decision to announce as the winners:
in the nomination "The best author of the central mass media":
- Vladimir Borisenko for the selection of the materials, published in the newspaper "Na Strazhe" and
- Elena Prus for the selection of materials placed on the informational electronic resource BelTA
and to give each of them a reward in the amount of 600,000 BYR;
in the nomination "The best newspaper/magazine publication, Internet publication or TV/radio material in the central mass media":
- Olga Kosyakova for the materials, published in Narodnaya Gazeta and Vecherni Minsk newspapers
and to give her a reward in the amount of 600,000 BYR.
in the nomination "The best newspaper/magazine publication, Internet publication or TV/radio material in the regional mass media":
- Marina Kasianova, Elena Bublikova, Tatiana Kutnevich, Maksim Ostrouhov for the material broadcasted by the Mogilev Radiostation
and to give each of them a reward in the amount of 150,000 BYR.
In nomination "The best documentary film scenario":
- "Vladimir Bokun's Factory" for script claim of the documental film "A New Day" about the refugees in Belarus.
The winners will receive the financial support for filming on their shooting.
Besides:
- Stepan Chirich will receive stimulatory reward in the amount of 200,000 BYR for the material published in the newspaper "Respublika";
- Natalia Aleynikova will receive stimulatory prize from the UNHCR for the selection of material in the newspaper "Perekhodny Vozrast".
