On January 24, 2008, at 14.00 a rewarding ceremony of the winners of the contest for the best coverage of the topic “Refugees in Belarus” in the mass media was held in UNHCR Representation in the Republic of Belarus (Minsk, Partizansky ave., 6a, 6th floor).
On 16 January 2008 the official opening of the Temporary Accommodation Center (TAC) for psychological and social adaptation of refugees in Gomel, Belarus took place. The opening of the TAC is the final step in implementing of the EU TACIS – UNHCR Project “Strengthening the National Asylum System in the Republic of Belarus”.
