On June 12-13, 2014 a 2—day «round table» for journalists «Forced Migration Issues in Mass Media» took place in the Sport Centre Logoisk. Event’s goal is to attract republican and regional Belarusian mass media journalists to refugee and forced migration issues, to get them acquainted with the major coverage aspects which are necessary for preparation of the materials concerning this topic, and also to avert mistakes and inaccuracies in the future for the avoidance of difficulties with representatives of other nationalities who for now suffer enough from being without home and family.

In May of 2014, the World Ice Hockey Championship was held in Belarus. In sight of this worldwide known competition, UNHCR Belarus organized a fundraising event to benefit 800 refugees in Belarus. The planning and preparation of this successful event took around 6 months. It required a number of meetings and close cooperation with more than 10 embassies and Ice Hockey Federations of the teams that participated in the Championship: Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Canada, the United States of America, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Kazakhstan, Italy, and France. Generous contributions, kind donations and assistance of the diplomatic community to collect the hockey items for the auction helped to raise funds for the refugee children in Belarus. World Ice Hockey Championship became essential part not only in the life of Belarusians but also helped to make the lives of the refugees in Belarus better.
On June 4, 2014 the Grand Opening of the Children Paintings and Posters Exhibition took place in the Minsk City Hall (Minsk, pl. Svabody, 2A) as an integral part of the Republican Contest of Children Art Works «Let’s be together». Traditionally exhibition is held within the World Refugee Day framework which is celebrated on 20th June. It is organised with the support of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, UNHCR Representation in Belarus and Centre for Supplementary Instructon of Children and Youth «Evrika» in Minsk.
A grand opening of the children paintings and posters exhibition in the framework of the republican contest of children art works will take place on June 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Minsk City Hall. Pupils whose works were assessed as the best, representatives of the UNHCR Office in the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education, Educational Committee of Minsk City Executive Committee, Department of Education, Sport and Tourism of Frunzenski District administration, heads of national communities as well as creative groups of the CCA "Evrika" will participate in the event. The event is devoted to World Refugee Day.
On May 21, 2014 the «round table» on refugee legislation issues organized by INA «Evolutio» and the Journal «Belaruskaya Dumka» with the support of UNHCR was held on the Faculty of International Relations of BSU.

On 24 – 25 April 2014, the face-to-face session of the training within EAC module “Drafting and Decision Making” was organized by UNHCR Belarus in cooperation with the Department on Citizenship and Migration of MIA of Belarus. The main purpose of the training was to improve the quality of the decisions on asylum claims. The representatives of DCM, its regional sub-departments, NGO “Belarusian Movement of Medical Workers” as well as the representatives of national asylum authorities of Azerbaijan and Georgia took part in the event. The training was organized within the framework of the project “Quality Initiative in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus”.

9-12 April, 2014 on the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University was held Model United Nations. For today this activity has become regular and gathers every half a year around 100 students from different BSU Faculties and other Universities. This time Model UN was held with the support of the FIR BSU, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and INA «Evolutio».
