The Exhibition of Children’s Drawings and Posters within the framework of the republican competition of children art works opened today at the Museum of the History of the City of Minsk. The event is devoted to World Refugee Day (20 June). The Competition and Exhibition are organized jointly by the Representation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the Republic of Belarus (UNHCR), the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Centre for Children and Youth Evrika (CCY Evrika) with financial assistance of Priorbank. The exposition will be exhibited at the museum from 4 to 21 June. 110 best art works are presented to the audience.

The exposition contains 110 best art works submitted to the Nationwide Children’s Competition, which is one of the events carried out on the eve of World Refugee Day celebrated on 20 June.

On May 4, 2015 an open lesson for pupils of the 4th form took place at Minsk Secondary School №2. Increasing the role of civil-patriotic and legal upbringing of pupils by means of informing them, in particular, with the refugee problems was stated as the main goal of the lesson. In general, the information hour was aimed at raising the acknowledgement on the problems which representatives of other nationalities face coming to Belarus. Prevention of latent discrimination is also amidst the core ideas of the lesson.
On April 29, 2015 the «round table» on the topic «The Role of Social Pedagogues and Psychology Specialists of Vocational Education Institutions in Raising the Level of Parental Legal Competence on the Protection of the Rights and Legal Interests of Minors» took place at the national exhibition center «BelExpo». Representatives of the republican socio-psychological and pedagogical service participated in this event.
On 28 – 30 April 2015, Belarus hosted the regional workshop on adults learning methodology under the project “Quality Initiative in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus”. The event was aimed at improvement of the trainers’ skills in preparation and conduction of successful trainings using special methodology elaborated with particular emphasis to peculiarities of adults as learners. The workshop gathered representatives of asylum authorities and UNHCR from six countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
Today the introductory lecture on refugee issues for students of the Faculty of Design and Applied Arts was conducted at the Belarusian State Arts Academy.
Model of United Nations took place on 8-11th April at the Faculty of International Relations of the BSU. Faculty of International Relations Model United Nations (FIRMUN) is an event which is held twice a year: in autumn and spring. About one hundred students, who represent various universities of the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries’ universities, participate in the FIRMUN.
